Not sure why, but I've always had a thing for them. Started with a book when I was 9, and hasn't stopped. I came across !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! group on Flickr, and uploaded a bunch of photos from the Pace Car Reunion at IMS back in 2011.

!!! UNKNOWN CONTENT TYPE !!!

I've just always thought they were neat...

Yup. I like the rarity and significance of them. Its also an acceptable way to have a weird paint job. Its weird to have a yellow and purple Corvette, slap some Nascar stickers on it and now it is okay.

Get it together, the yellow and purple Corvette was an Indy 500 pace car.

Amateur.

Pace aircraft ftw. Cool article too, if you're into that kind of thing.

Damn! See what you started. I'd drive the shit out of a caprice Indy 500 wagon. Wish I could find more info about it. I had a science teacher with the same paint job on a 93 c1500.
